Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested in Arizona After Shoplifting Spree

Law enforcement officials in Arizona have apprehended two individuals, one of whom had distinctive facial tattoos, for a series of crimes including shoplifting, armed robbery, and conspiracy. The Apache County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspects as 40-year-old Joseph M. Woodruff and 29-year-old Anthony Breeze.

According to authorities, the duo first engaged in shoplifting incidents at a Speedway gas station and a Dollar General store in Sanders, Arizona on January 10, 2024. After these incidents, they allegedly proceeded to rob the Pizza Edge restaurant on the Navajo Nation while armed with weapons.

Woodruff and Breeze were traveling in a dark gray Chrysler sedan with Ohio license plates. Unfortunately for them, their vehicle broke down as they were heading south towards St. Johns, Arizona on U.S. 191. This provided an opportunity for the police to apprehend the suspects.

Both men have been arrested and now face charges of armed robbery, conspiracy, and shoplifting. They are currently being held in the Apache County Jail.

Law enforcement officials suspect that Woodruff and Breeze may have been involved in other criminal activities prior to their arrest. The sheriff’s office revealed that the suspects claimed to have met in Gallup, New Mexico and were on their way to Las Vegas, Nevada.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the two suspects to come forward and contact the Navajo Nation Police Department or the Apache County Sheriff’s Office.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of effective law enforcement in ensuring public safety and apprehending individuals involved in criminal activities.
