British Cargo Ship Attacked off the Coast of Yemen

The British Royal Navy has reported a new attack on a ship off the coast of Yemen. According to the Russian news agency TASS, the British company Ambrey has confirmed that the Maltese-flagged cargo ship Zogarafia was hit by a missile near the shores of Yemen, resulting in minor damages.

The incident has also been confirmed by the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), the coordinating center for maritime trade. They received a message about the incident, which occurred approximately 100 nautical miles northwest of the port of Salif in Yemen.

The UKMTO did not disclose the name of the ship or provide further details about the incident.

This comes after Qatar’s Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, discussed ways to ease tensions in the Middle East. He stated that resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict would lead to de-escalation in other parts of the region, particularly in the southern Red Sea, where the Houthi movement in Yemen has been targeted by Western attacks.

Earlier, the Houthis announced their intention to attack commercial ships in the Red Sea every 12 hours.
