Iranian Revolutionary Guard Strikes US Military Base in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has launched a combined attack on an American military base and airport near the US Consulate in the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, Erbil. This development has been reported by the American television channel ABC News.

According to available information, Erbil has witnessed about seven to eight powerful explosions. Ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles have targeted the US Harir military base and the adjacent international airport.

Currently, air traffic in Erbil has been suspended. Three drones have been shot down. The American side denies any casualties among its military personnel.

The responsibility for the attack has been claimed by the IRGC, stating that they struck “spy headquarters” and locations of “anti-Iranian terrorist forces” with ballistic missiles.

Earlier, it was reported that Iraqi Shiite armed groups, affiliated with the “Islamic Resistance in Iraq”, had announced a massive rocket and drone attack on three American military bases in Iraq and Syria.

Previously, the US had accused Iran of preparing attacks by Houthi rebels on merchant ships in the Red Sea.
