Russian Forces Thwart Ukrainian Attack on Civilian Infrastructure

Russian military personnel have successfully thwarted an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) on civilian infrastructure along the Kupiansk direction. This information was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense’s press service, as cited by RIA Novosti.

According to the statement, the attack from the Ukrainian troops was intercepted by a Buk surface-to-air missile system. This formation belongs to the 6th combined-arms army of the Western Military District.

“During combat duty, the system’s crew detected a high-speed target launched by the enemy and destroyed it within seconds,” emphasized the Ministry.

On January 13, Vladimir Rogov, the leader of the public movement “We are Together with Russia” in Zaporizhia, announced that air defense systems in the region had been activated. According to him, these defense measures successfully intercepted two aerial targets over the city of Berdiansk.

On the same day, the governor of the Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo, reported that Ukrainian forces attempted a missile strike on the village of Chaplynka in the southern part of the region. However, as stated by the local administration, Russian air defense systems neutralized all Ukrainian projectiles.

Earlier, Ukrainian authorities urged citizens to start building unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at home.
