Yemeni Rebels Attack Ship in the Red Sea; EU Considers Military Mission

Yemeni rebel group Ansar Allah, also known as the Houthis, has launched a missile at a ship in the southern part of the Red Sea, according to sources reported by Sky News Arabia.

The message stated, “The Houthis have fired a rocket at a ship in the southern part of the Red Sea,” without specifying the vessel’s ownership.

It was recently announced that the European Union will discuss the creation of its own military mission in the Red Sea. This statement came from Peter Stano, the representative of the EU’s foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell. Stano mentioned that European countries plan to initiate discussions on this matter later in the week.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken previously stated that the attacks by the Ansar Allah movement in the Red Sea affect the interests of over 40 countries and disrupt nearly 20% of global maritime transportation.

Earlier, Lavrov identified the key task in the Middle East conflict zone.
