Kursk Region Under Attack: Over 1,900 Shelling Incidents by Ukrainian Armed Forces

The Kursk region of Russia has been subjected to more than 1,900 shelling incidents by the Ukrainian Armed Forces since the start of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine. This was revealed by the governor of the region, Roman Starovoit, during an operational meeting of the regional government, as reported by TASS.

During the meeting, the governor informed that two shelling incidents had been recorded in the Kursk region in the past 24 hours, and a total of 41 incidents in the first eight days of 2024.

“In fact, since the beginning of the special military operation, the territory of the Kursk region has been shelled 1,906 times by Ukraine,” he said.

Starovoit highlighted that since the end of February 2022, 76 residents of the region have been affected by Ukrainian shelling.

On January 7, it was reported that the village of Kozino in the Kursk region was shelled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, resulting in partial power outage in the area.

Earlier, Russia had developed a new system for countering drones.
