Donetsk Head Calls for Ukraine’s Armed Forces to Retreat for Ceasefire

Denis Pushilin, the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), stated in an interview with RIA Novosti that in order to halt attacks on Donbass, the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) should be pushed back not only from Donetsk but also from other populated areas.

“The distance required will depend on the weapons currently being supplied and those that will be available to our opponents. Therefore, in addition to liberating the territory of the DPR, we need to further push back the enemy, taking into account the weaponry they will possess at that time,” Pushilin said.

According to the head of the DPR, significant work lies ahead in this regard.

Previously, Pushilin had stated that Donbass would become an industrial center for Russia.

On January 7, it was reported that Central Clinical Hospital No. 6 in the Lenin district of Donetsk was affected by shelling from the UAF.

On January 1, the head of the DPR reported seven injuries as a result of shelling on Donetsk by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Earlier, several civilians were injured in an attack on a residential building in Donetsk.
