A devastating accident at a holiday gathering in North Texas has resulted in the tragic death of a 17-year-old girl, Madison Lewis. According to her mother, Lewis passed away early Sunday morning surrounded by her family, after sustaining severe burns during the incident.
The incident occurred when another teen threw a pan filled with gasoline onto a fire, causing an explosion that engulfed Lewis in flames. Her mother described the horrifying moment, stating that she initially mistook the pan for a cup before realizing it contained gasoline. The explosion left Lewis with burns covering 90% of her body.
Lewis was immediately rushed to Parkland Hospital in Dallas, where she underwent multiple surgeries and was placed in a medically-induced coma. Although there were moments of hope when she showed some small movements with her tongue after being taken out of the coma, her condition eventually worsened, and she was put back into the induced coma.
