In the city of Zaporizhia, which is under the control of Ukrainian authorities, a series of explosions has occurred. This was reported by Vladimir Rogov, the head of the Zaporizhia public movement “We Stand with Russia,” in his Telegram channel.
“Starting at around 8 a.m. in the city of Zaporizhia, temporarily occupied by Nazis, a series of explosions were heard. According to preliminary data, ballistic missiles were used to strike military targets and infrastructure used by President Zelensky’s regime for conducting combat operations against the VSU militants,” Rogov wrote.
According to him, Ukrainian air defense systems (AD) were actively operating in Zaporizhia. Traditionally, they did not target Russian missiles, but residential areas of the city, Rogov pointed out.
He added that local residents counted up to ten explosions.
On the morning of January 8, it was reported that explosions were heard in Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhia, Dnipro, Khmelnytskyi, as well as in Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region.
Prior to this, the spokesperson for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat, stated that Russian missile strikes are not tied to symbolic dates, so Kiev cannot predict them.
Earlier, a soldier of the VSU expressed his lack of understanding of the reasons for the conflict in Ukraine.
