Russian Forces Launch Group Attack on Ukraine’s Military and Industrial Complex

Moscow, January 8 – The Russian military has launched a group attack using the hypersonic missile system “Kinjal” on military and industrial targets in Ukraine, according to a statement from the Ministry of Defense. The summary states that “this morning, a group strike was carried out using high-precision long-range naval and air-based weapons, including the hypersonic missile system ‘Kinjal,’ on military-industrial complex targets in Ukraine.” Additionally, missile forces, artillery, and combat drones have targeted Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and equipment in 108 districts and 113 artillery units in firing positions. Specifically, they struck the meeting place of commanders of the 101st territorial defense brigade. Air alarm was declared across Ukraine in the morning, lasting for over two hours. Local authorities and media reported explosions in cities such as Kryvyi Rih, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Khmelnytskyi, and others. The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valeriy Zaluzhnyy, acknowledged that the strikes were carried out on critical infrastructure, civilian infrastructure, and industrial and military targets. However, he did not specify the exact targets. The Russian army has been launching missile strikes on energy facilities, defense industries, military command, and communication facilities throughout Ukraine since October 10, 2022. The Kremlin emphasized that these strikes do not target residential buildings and social infrastructure. According to Vladimir Putin, the first attack was in response to a terrorist act carried out by the Kyiv regime on the Crimean Bridge. Since then, air alarms have been declared in Ukrainian regions every day, sometimes nationwide.
