Maryland Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Estranged Wife in Supermarket Parking Lot

A Maryland man has been accused of fatally shooting his estranged wife outside of a Giant supermarket store on Saturday evening. Frederick Owusu Sakyi, a resident of Walkersville, was apprehended by deputies from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office following the incident. According to authorities, the shooting occurred at approximately 11:11 p.m. at the Urbana Giant located on Sugarloaf Parkway.

Upon arriving at the scene, deputies discovered the lifeless body of Sakyi’s estranged wife in the parking lot. The couple was reportedly in the midst of a divorce. The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office stated that there had been a history of protective orders and stalking by Sakyi.

Sakyi, 33, was subsequently taken into custody and booked into the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
