Man Wanted for Brutal Attacks on Women in Long Beach, California

Police in California are on the hunt for a man responsible for two violent assaults on women in Long Beach. The first attack occurred on Thursday morning near 21st Street and Locust Avenue. Surveillance footage obtained by FOX 11 Los Angeles shows the suspect approaching a woman walking with her baby in a stroller and striking her from behind with an unknown object. Thankfully, the child was unharmed. Less than three hours later and just two streets away, the same suspect allegedly attacked a 60-year-old woman.

The assailant, described as a Hispanic man in his mid-20s with a “peach fuzz mustache,” was caught on camera wearing a white hat, a turquoise sweater over a black hooded sweater, blue pants, and sneakers. He was seen carrying a black bag and a dark-colored backpack. The Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) has released these photos in hopes that the public can help identify the suspect.

Following the attacks, the LBPD has increased patrols in the area and is actively searching for the suspect. Residents in the vicinity are understandably concerned for their safety, with one resident stating, “There’s just some sick people around here.”

Once apprehended, the suspect is expected to face two charges of assault with a deadly weapon. The police department is urging anyone with information about the suspect to contact them at 562-435-6711.

It is important to note that these incidents occurred in broad daylight, highlighting the brazenness of the attacks. The community is on high alert, and authorities are working diligently to ensure the safety of residents.
