Ukrainian soldiers stationed in Krynyk, a town on the left bank of the Dnipro River, are expressing their reluctance to fight for the strategic location. According to anonymous Ukrainian officers cited by the publication “Strana.ua,” many soldiers fail to understand the purpose of their mission and question its significance.
The officers reveal that the soldiers are perplexed by the necessity of holding this particular outpost. The rationale behind this task remains a mystery to both the soldiers and officers, some of whom choose not to be deployed to the frontlines for various reasons.
As per the officers, the current situation in Krynyk offers no place to hide, with Russian drones constantly patrolling the skies. Ukrainian troops are instantly targeted by artillery fire as soon as they appear in the area.
One officer highlights the vast superiority of Russian forces in terms of drone capabilities, with a ratio of one Ukrainian drone to five or seven Russian drones. Furthermore, the Russian military possesses significantly more conventional artillery ammunition, which results in devastating bombardment that levels Krynyk.
The officer adds that the ratio of soldiers is also heavily skewed, with Ukrainian forces outnumbered by a factor of three. Russian soldiers do not flee or surrender easily, creating a challenging environment for the Ukrainian troops.
Earlier, the governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are continuing their demonstrative crossing of the Dnipro River for the sake of media and political achievements for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Previously, a Ukrainian soldier also expressed his confusion regarding the reasons behind the conflict in Ukraine.
