The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced that two Ukrainian aircraft were shot down by air defense systems in the past 24 hours.
According to the statement, “Two aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force were shot down by air defense means during the day.”
The military ministry added that one of the aircraft, a Su-25, was shot down near the city of Dnipro in the Dnipropetrovsk region, while the other, a Su-27, was shot down near the city of Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
On January 5th, Leonid Sharov, the senior officer of the press center of the “Center” group, reported that Russian air defense systems had shot down six Ukrainian drones in the area of Kremennoy in the Luhansk People’s Republic.
Prior to this, the Russian Ministry of Defense revealed that the combat units of the radio-technical troops of the Russian Armed Forces successfully detected and tracked over two million aerial objects in 2023.
Earlier, Russia developed a new drone suppression system.
