Moscow, January 7 – Explosions were heard in Kharkiv, according to the city’s mayor, Igor Terekhov. “There have been several explosions in the city,” he wrote in a Telegram channel. According to an online map from the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation, air raid sirens are sounding in the Nikolaev, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions of Ukraine, as well as in parts of the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions under Kiev’s control. The Russian army has launched missile strikes on energy facilities, defense industries, military command centers, and communication infrastructure in response to attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on civilian targets in Russian territory. Air raid sirens are being declared in Ukrainian regions every day, sometimes across the entire country. However, as Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov emphasized, Russian military forces are not targeting residential buildings and social infrastructure.
