Ukraine Declares Air Alarm in Multiple Regions Amid Ongoing Conflict with Russia

In the early hours of January 7th, air alarms were declared in the Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, and Kharkiv regions of Ukraine. This official alert was announced through a public notification resource.

The air alarm in Vinnytsia region sounded at 0:04 local time (1:04 Moscow time). In the regions of Khmelnytskyi, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv, the alarm was declared at 0:34 (1:34 Moscow time). In Zhytomyr region, sirens began sounding at 1:22 (2:22 Moscow time). While the alarm has been lifted in some regions, it continues to be in effect in the Kyiv region.

Additionally, an air alarm was declared in the territory controlled by Kyiv in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

On January 6th, the Ukrainian authorities declared an air alarm throughout the entire country.

According to available information, on October 10, 2022, two days after the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge, the Russian Armed Forces began targeting Ukrainian infrastructure. Since then, air alarms have been declared daily in various regions of Ukraine, often covering the entire country. The Ministry of Defense states that the attacks target objects in the energy sector, defense industry, military command, and communication.

Earlier, the office of President Zelensky threatened Russia with retaliation for the explosions in Ukraine.
