US Military Strikes Commander of Pro-Iranian Shiite Movement in Lebanon

According to an anonymous US official, American forces have launched a strike on the vehicle of a commander from the pro-Iranian Shiite movement, “Hezbollah al-Nujaba.” The commander’s name has not been specified, but it is reported that both he and one of his aides were killed in the attack.

The US authorities believe that the “Hezbollah al-Nujaba” movement had previously attacked US forces in Iraq.

On January 2nd, fighters from the Shiite party, “Hezbollah,” blocked roads in the southern suburbs of Beirut. This came after an Israeli drone attack on the headquarters of the Palestinian radical movement, Hamas. Now, the bridges leading to the Shiite areas of the Lebanese capital are closed. According to local residents, their mobile phone networks have been disabled.

The Lebanese agency, NNA, reported that an Israeli drone had targeted the Hamas office in the southern suburbs of Beirut, specifically in the Al-Musharrafia district.

Earlier, the US deployed an aircraft carrier strike group to the Gulf of Aden due to attacks by the Houthis.
