Meza has a lengthy criminal history dating back to 1982 when he sexually assaulted and strangled an 8-year-old girl outside an elementary school in Austin. After serving 11 years of a 30-year sentence, he was released but violated parole in 1994, leading to his return to prison. Meza was eventually released in 2002 but remained on parole until 2016.
The search warrant suggests that Meza committed additional sexual assaults after his supervised release ended in 2016. Investigators believe that data associated with his Google account will assist in corroborating his involvement in the murders of Gloria Lofton, Jesse Fraga, and a shooting he admitted to in San Antonio, as well as potentially other cold case homicides.
One of the speculated victims of Meza is college student Nicole Coleman, whose naked body was discovered in a wooded area of Austin in 2018, showing signs of trauma.
