Russia’s State Corporation Rostec Announces Delivery of New Self-Propelled Artillery Systems to the Russian Army

The Russian army has received the first samples of the latest self-propelled artillery systems (SPAS) “Koalitsiya-SV,” according to a statement by the state-owned corporation “Rostec.” This announcement comes as the state tests for the SPAS were successfully completed in 2023. “Rostec” emphasized that the “Koalitsiya-SV” has effectively demonstrated all the characteristics envisioned by its developers.

Furthermore, the corporation added that serial production of the SPAS has already commenced, along with the production of the transport-loading vehicle. The first units were delivered to the Russian forces at the end of 2023.

Military expert Alexey Leonkov previously highlighted the distinguishing features of the self-propelled artillery system “Koalitsiya-SV” compared to the self-propelled howitzer “Msta-S.” He noted that the SPAS possesses increased firing rate and an unmanned turret.

Leonkov further explained that the SPAS has an unmanned turret and is capable of firing conventional projectiles with improved accuracy. Additionally, the field artillery piece can autonomously perform topographic orientation and launch attacks immediately after receiving target coordinates from unmanned aerial vehicles.

It has also been revealed that Russia will soon begin training operators of unmanned aerial vehicles in the country.
