Russian forces have achieved a significant victory against the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kupyansk direction. The Ministry of Defense announced that the “West” group of troops, along with artillery fire, successfully inflicted damage on several Ukrainian mechanized brigades and territorial defense units in the Kharkiv region. The Ukrainian side suffered losses in both personnel and equipment, including the destruction of two infantry fighting vehicles, three cars, and multiple rocket launcher systems.
In a separate incident, the Ministry of Defense reported the destruction of a tank during a special operation. The Ministry released a video showing the tank catching fire after the initial strike, and the crew attempting to hide before the equipment was completely destroyed by a second strike.
Furthermore, on January 2nd, the Russian army successfully destroyed a platoon of Leopard-2A6 tanks in the Svatove direction.
