Russian Armed Forces Successfully Detect and Monitor Over Two Million Air Objects in 2023

The radio-technical troops of the Russian Armed Forces have successfully detected and provided surveillance for over two million air objects in 2023. Among them were approximately 600,000 foreign aircraft, over two thousand reconnaissance aircraft, and more than 20 strategic bombers. This information was reported by TASS, citing the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The Ministry of Defense noted that the radio-technical troops are equipped with modern radar systems such as “Nebula-MM,” “Podlet,” “Kasta-VM,” “Observer-FSRiKV,” “Upgrade,” “Niobium-M,” as well as automation complexes including “Fundament-M” and the portable indicator post “VIP-117M3.” The use of these systems allows for the detection and surveillance of any aerial or space-based threats, including small unmanned aerial vehicles and hypersonic missiles.

The department also highlighted that the combat units of the radio-technical troops have been brought to readiness over four thousand times, which serves as a clear example of the high level of combat readiness in the radio-technical troops.

Previously, the Chief of the Radio-Technical Troops of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, Colonel Alexander Vorobyov, stated that three to four flights of foreign reconnaissance aviation are detected daily on the country’s western borders.

Earlier in Sweden, a decision was made to burn the NATO Charter.
