Former Rock Musician Arrested and Charged with Murder of Girlfriend in California Park

A former rock musician, Theobald “Theo” Lengyel, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend, Alice “Alyx” Kamakaokalani Herrmann. The body was found in a wooded area of a California park. Lengyel, also known as “Mylo Stone,” is a former saxophone player and founding member of the band Mr. Bungle. The arrest was made by the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.

Herrmann, a neuroscientist with a degree from Caltech, was reported missing by her family on December 12, after not hearing from her for over a week. Her car was found in front of Lengyel’s home, and he became a person of interest in her disappearance. The investigation progressed, revealing foul play and leading to Lengyel’s identification as a suspect.

Human remains were discovered in a wooded area within Tilden Regional Park in Berkeley, but official identification is still pending DNA confirmation from the coroner’s office. Police have not disclosed the cause of Herrmann’s death.

Lengyel was apprehended without incident and is currently held without bail at the Santa Cruz County Jail. The Capitola Police Department expressed condolences to the victim’s family and friends.

It is worth noting that Herrmann was a member of Outrigger Santa Cruz, a competitive canoe paddling group, and was last seen on December 3. The arrest of Lengyel, a former rock musician, has shocked the community. The band Mr. Bungle gained popularity in the 80s.

The investigation into this tragic homicide continues, and authorities are working diligently to establish the facts surrounding Herrmann’s death.
