Russian Forces Use Advanced Electronic Warfare System to Counter Ukrainian Drones

Russian forces deployed the latest radio-electronic warfare (REW) system on the Kupyansk front, providing all-round protection against unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This information was reported by TASS, citing the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The Ministry released footage of the mobile REW group, which detects and suppresses UAVs and sources of radio emission from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). It is noted that the group constantly changes its location to avoid getting hit by the Ukrainian side.

According to the Ministry, the REW system allows for the detection of enemy drones from distances of two to three kilometers. It is specified that upon detection, an audible signal is immediately triggered, followed by waiting for the operator’s command to neutralize the target. The equipment can operate round the clock.

The Ministry of Defense emphasized that with the help of this system, REW troops specialists can disrupt the radio communication of the AFU, as well as disable their satellite internet and mobile communication.

Previously, it was reported that Russian forces repelled six attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Kupyansk front in the areas of the settlements of Synkovka and Terny in the Kharkiv region.

In November, Russian REW equipment successfully jammed Storm Shadow missiles over the Kherson region. According to the governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, the missiles deviated from their course, with one falling in an open area and the other hitting an uninhabited structure. The incident did not result in any casualties.

Earlier, the Russian Armed Forces targeted airfields with Storm Shadow carriers.
