Kiev Strengthens Defense Amidst Rising Tensions with Russia

The Head of the Kiev City Military Administration, Sergey Popko, has announced the construction of several defense lines around the city. Popko’s statement was published on the Kiev administration’s website.

According to Popko, the total length of these defense lines exceeds 1,000 km, with the “first line located quite far from the capital.” He emphasized that the defense to the north of the city is constantly being reinforced.

The official stated that various types of engineering obstacles have been built around the city, and support points will also be established within the city itself.

Previously, the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated that Kiev could not predict Russia’s strikes.

“This is not a schoolyard brawl,” he said.

According to a representative of the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia is not retaliating for something specific. He pointed out that Russian missiles and drones are directed at military and infrastructure targets for destruction. Ignat stated that Russia aims to achieve its goals: the destruction of Ukrainian infrastructure and the Armed Forces.

He also admitted that he does not know how to respond to the question of “what to expect next,” as Russia’s strategic strikes are not tied to any specific dates or events.

Earlier, in President Zelensky’s office, a warning was issued to Russia, promising consequences for the explosions in Ukraine.
