Ukrainian Government Expands Defense Line Construction Amidst Increasing Attacks

The Ukrainian government is taking steps to accelerate the construction of defense lines in response to intensified attacks. This development was reported by the Telegram channel of Ukrainian publication “Strana.ua.”

According to the channel, the country’s cabinet of ministers has expanded the list of agencies authorized to order the construction of fortifications. Previously, only regional military administrations had this authority, but now the Ministry of Defense, the State Special Transport Service, and the State Agency for Restoration can also initiate such orders.

This expansion, as emphasized by “Strana,” widens the sources of funding for the construction of defensive structures. Moreover, contractors will now receive an advance payment of up to 70% of the total cost of the work. The Ukrainian General Staff will decide on the locations for these defense lines.

Earlier, the American publication Foreign Policy stated that Ukrainian politicians have expressed doubts about the country’s ability to hold onto territories after Russian attacks.

During the nights of December 29th and the morning of December 30th, Ukraine faced a series of coordinated attacks. Explosions occurred in Kiev, Kharkiv, Odessa, Dnipro, Lviv, Zaporizhia, and other cities.

Previously, Deputy Bezuhla proposed candidates for the position of the new Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
