Ukraine’s Ability to Hold Territory in Doubt After Russian Attacks, Says American Publication

Politicians in Ukraine are expressing doubts about the country’s ability to hold its territory following the recent Russian attacks, according to an article by the American publication Foreign Policy.

Journalists note that Ukrainian officials are questioning how long they can maintain control of the territory after the Russian military strikes. The article highlights that the maneuvers of Russian forces in eastern Ukraine, combined with the lack of assistance from the West, could lead to further land concessions by Ukrainian authorities.

Ukrainian Member of Parliament, Alexandra Ustinova, emphasized in an interview with FP that such a scenario is incredibly difficult to accept, as the country is losing thousands of servicemen for every kilometer of land, while the Russian military continues to gain control over new territories.

On the nights of December 29th and the morning of December 30th, Ukraine was subjected to a series of concentrated attacks. Explosions occurred in Kiev, Kharkiv, Odessa, Dnipro, Lviv, Zaporizhia, and other cities. The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valeriy Zaluzhnyy, stated that the country was targeted with 122 missiles and 36 drones. A representative of the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuriy Ignat, mentioned that they had never seen so many targets simultaneously on their monitors before.

The Russian Ministry of Defense emphasized that the targets of the attack were military-industrial complexes, military airfields, arsenals, and military deployments, and that all of them were successfully hit. Further details can be found in the article by “Gazeta.ru”.

Earlier, the US acknowledged the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counteroffensive.
