US Navy Ship Fires at Houthi Drone in the Red Sea

In the Red Sea, a US Navy ship has fired at a Houthi drone from Yemen, according to a representative of the movement, Muhammad Abdel Salam, as reported by TASS.

It is noted that the fire was directed at a reconnaissance drone from multiple artillery. According to Salam, one of the shells exploded near a commercial vessel.

Earlier, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that two oil tankers flying the flags of Norway and India were attacked by drones in the Red Sea. The department stated that on December 23, two anti-ship ballistic missiles were launched by the Houthis towards international maritime routes in the southern part of the Red Sea from areas controlled by the Houthis in Yemen.

Prior to this, the Pentagon stated that the UAV that attacked the vessel off the coast of India on December 23 was launched from Iran.

Earlier, the Houthis announced their intention to attack commercial ships in the Red Sea every 12 hours.
