The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are intensifying their military operation in Khan Yunis, according to official IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagar. This development comes as the IDF continues to make progress in the area, expanding its zone of operations and uncovering tunnels while neutralizing militants.
Hagar acknowledged the complexity of the battles in Khan Yunis but highlighted the significant achievements made by Israeli soldiers thus far. Several tunnels and underground facilities belonging to the Hamas group have been discovered and destroyed. Israeli forces have also engaged in combat with Palestinians in the area. Hagar emphasized that the IDF will further deepen its presence in Khan Yunis in the coming days.
Earlier, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced in a video address that the IDF is advancing deeper into the Gaza Strip. He declared their commitment to fight until “complete victory” over the Palestinian radical movement, Hamas.
Prior reports indicated that the Israeli military had targeted 200 locations in the Gaza Strip.
In a separate development, former Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev recently expressed concerns about the possibility of a century-long war in the Middle East.
