Ukraine’s Armed Forces Face Challenges for Future Counteroffensive, Says Report

Ukraine’s Armed Forces are unlikely to conduct a new counteroffensive in 2024, according to an article published by Australian outlet The Conversation. The author of the article expresses doubts about President Volodymyr Zelensky’s confidence in the military and financial support from the West. The article highlights that Russia surpasses Ukraine in terms of manpower, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces are expected to continue facing a shortage of artillery ammunition in 2024.

The Conversation believes that this not only jeopardizes future Ukrainian offensives but also potentially increases the likelihood of a new Russian offensive. Earlier, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of German newspaper Bild, Paul Ronzheimer, discussed Kiev’s perspective on a new counteroffensive. According to the journalist, Kiev acknowledges the lack of chances for a repeated counteroffensive on the frontlines.

Meanwhile, President Zelensky’s office admitted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counteroffensive did not yield the expected results. Previously, the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces declared the failure of Ukraine’s counteroffensive.
