Russian military forces, specifically the rocket artillery systems of the “Uragan” group of troops in the “West” direction, have successfully destroyed a concentration of Ukrainian armored vehicles in the Kupyansk region. This development, reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Russian Ministry of Defense, highlights the coordinated actions of artillery personnel using unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) to track and confirm the destruction of Ukrainian military equipment.
The senior officer of the rocket artillery battery, known by the call sign “Kama,” identified the main targets as temporary deployment points. “We are providing assistance to infantry units, targeting infantry fighting vehicles, tanks, as well as foreign equipment such as the Polish self-propelled howitzers Krab and the American M777,” the officer stated.
On December 21st, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Russian Armed Forces had destroyed American-made counter-battery fire stations.
Earlier, on December 20th, it was reported that Russian forces had repelled five attacks by Ukrainian assault groups in the Kupyansk region within a 24-hour period.
Prior to these incidents, the Russian Ministry of Defense had also reported the downing of a Ukrainian Mi-24 helicopter in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).
Valeriy Gerasimov, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, had previously stated that countering the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ offensive was the main objective for the Russian Armed Forces in 2023.
