Ukrainian Missile Intercepted over the Azov Sea, Provocation Thwarted

Simferopol, Dec 21 – The air defense system intercepted a Ukrainian ATACMS missile over the Azov Sea, according to Vladimir Saldo, the governor of the Kherson region. In his Telegram channel, he wrote, “Today, a missile flying towards the Crimean Bridge was shot down over the waters of the Azov Sea. The air defense forces acted promptly and accurately. Another provocation by the Kiev regime has been foiled.” Earlier today, the Ministry of Defense reported that the air defense forces destroyed a Ukrainian missile over the Azov Sea. According to the ministry, the missile was intended to strike targets in Russia. In October, the White House confirmed the transfer of these missiles to Ukraine, with a range of up to 165 kilometers. Media reports suggest that Kiev has received at least a dozen of these projectiles. President Vladimir Putin described this decision as another mistake by the United States. According to him, such weapons pose an additional threat, but they are incapable of fundamentally changing the situation on the frontlines. Russia, on the other hand, will be able to repel these attacks. The Washington Post later reported that these missiles and cluster munitions did not have a decisive impact on the course of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counteroffensive.
