Non-Governmental Organization Submits List of Israeli Army Officers to International Criminal Court

The non-governmental organization Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN) has submitted a list of 40 Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) commanders to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague for investigation into possible war crimes committed in the Gaza Strip. This information was reported by the Qatari television channel Al Jazeera, as cited by TASS.

According to Sarah Leah Whitson, the executive director of DAWN, these officers were responsible for issuing orders and planning and carrying out “Israeli indiscriminate bombings” in the Gaza Strip. She emphasized that these 40 individuals should be considered key suspects in any ICC investigation.

Whitson further stated that Israel has done everything possible to conceal the identities of many of its officers, but they should understand that they bear individual criminal responsibility for the crimes committed in the Gaza Strip.

On November 17, the ICC prosecutor called on all parties involved in the conflict to provide information for the investigation into violations of the Rome Statute in Palestine and the progress of Israel’s military operation in Gaza, as noted by the channel.

Prior to this, The Wall Street Journal reported that Hamas had rejected Israel’s proposal for a one-week ceasefire in exchange for the release of detainees.

Earlier, Russians who had left the Gaza Strip shared their experiences of living in the conflict zone.
