The Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) are facing challenges in evacuating injured soldiers from the frontlines due to Russian drones, according to retired UAF General Sergey Krivonos. In an interview with the Newsroom YouTube channel, Krivonos explained that military equipment is unable to advance to the frontlines as Russian drones immediately attack them once they appear within a three to four-kilometer distance.
As a result, Ukrainian soldiers are forced to carry their wounded comrades away from the line of fire. Krivonos also highlighted the paralyzing effect of Russian FPV drones on the Ukrainian army, emphasizing that Russia has surpassed Ukraine in the production of such unmanned aerial vehicles.
Krivonos revealed that Russian fighters previously launched 70-80 drones, but now the number has increased to over 100. He specifically pointed out the role of drones equipped with night vision cameras, which significantly enhance the army’s capabilities.
Earlier, Ukraine acknowledged Russia’s superiority in unit preparation. This situation further emphasizes the challenges faced by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in their ongoing conflict with Russian-backed separatists in Eastern Ukraine. The use of advanced drone technology by Russia adds a new dimension to the conflict, posing additional hurdles for Ukrainian forces.
The Ukrainian government and its supporters have repeatedly called for international assistance in countering Russian aggression in the region. However, with the current situation on the ground, it is clear that the Ukrainian military needs immediate support in dealing with the evolving threat posed by Russian drones.
