Ukraine Deploys Fortifications and Mines Border with Belarus, Increasing Tensions

Ukrainian military forces have been deploying fortifications and mining their own territory along the border with Belarus, according to Alexander Volfovich, the Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic. This information was reported by “National Defense”.

Volfovich stated, “On the southern borders, the Ukrainian side continues to install fortifications and mine their territory. Planned and spontaneous provocations are also being carried out.”

He noted that Ukrainians are damaging and destroying Belarusian border infrastructure and exerting psychological pressure on border guards.

On December 20th, Volfovich declared that the number of NATO military exercises in the past two years has increased by over three times, with the number of participants more than five times higher.

On December 16th, it was reported that Belarus had withdrawn from the agreement with Ukraine on joint control at border checkpoints.

Earlier, it was revealed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are constructing defensive lines in the form of dragon’s teeth in the Chernihiv region along the border with Russia and Belarus.

Previously, Russia ratified an agreement with Belarus on the establishment of training and combat centers.
