Russian Defense Forces Shoot Down Ukrainian Helicopter in Donetsk

In a recent announcement, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that Russian air defense systems shot down a Mi-24 helicopter belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). The ministry’s press service provided this information.

“The air defense systems successfully shot down a Ukrainian Mi-24 helicopter,” the statement clarified.

The ministry specified that the military vehicle was eliminated near the Uglezborochnoy railway station.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Russian military forces had shot down eight UAF aircraft, including both planes and helicopters, within a week. According to the ministry, these targets were hit using Russian air defense systems. Specifically, five MiG-29 planes, two Su-27 planes, one Su-25 plane, and one Mi-8 helicopter were brought down.

In November, the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic disclosed the total value of defense supplies to Ukraine. According to local news portal Idnes, the list of military equipment transferred to Ukraine includes four Mi-24 helicopters, 62 T-64 and T-72 tanks of the M1 modification, 131 infantry fighting vehicles, and other machinery.

Previously, the Russian Armed Forces had repelled four attacks by the UAF.
