President of Czech Republic Criticizes Ukraine’s Failed Counteroffensive and Calls for Defensive Focus

The President of Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, has stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) were unable to fulfill their objectives during the summer counteroffensive and have suffered significant losses, according to TASS.

According to Pavel, the Ukrainian counteroffensive did not yield the expected results. There has been no significant progress on the front lines, but there have been substantial human and equipment losses. One of the main reasons for the UAF’s failures, as stated by the Czech President, is the insufficient supply of weapons and equipment from the West to Kiev.

In light of this, Pavel suggests that the UAF should focus on strengthening their defense and halt offensive operations. This would allow the Ukrainian army to preserve their strength for future operations in the spring.

Previously, President Petr Pavel had stated that the conflict in Ukraine, which European countries had hoped would see significant progress, is unlikely to experience any major breakthroughs.

Former Prime Minister of Italy, Giuseppe Conte, has also expressed the view that Ukraine will not be able to achieve victory over Russia in military confrontation, emphasizing the need for peaceful negotiations as the only way out of the current situation.

Earlier, a retired Czech army general had criticized Ukraine for its mistakes during the counteroffensive.
