Israel Experiences 24 Hours Without Air Raid Sirens as Peace Plan Develops

For the first time since October 7th, Israel has gone a whole day without the sound of air raid sirens, according to The Times of Israel. This signifies a potential shift in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) last reported a siren activation through its own press service more than 24 hours ago, specifically at 16:59 Moscow time on December 19th. This silence comes as analysts from Saudi Arabia have developed and shared a peace plan with the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aiming to resolve the conflict and cease hostilities in the Gaza Strip.

According to the plan, the leadership of the radical group Hamas is expected to be “evacuated” to Algeria due to the country’s favorable relations with the group’s main sponsors, Qatar and Iran.

In addition, a contact group consisting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the League of Arab States (LAS) has formulated a new plan for a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This proposal has been presented to the five countries within the United Nations Security Council.

Previously, the United Nations had called on Israel to halt its military actions in Gaza. The recent developments raise hopes for a potential reduction in violence and a renewed push for peace in the region.
