Ukrainian Forces Urged to Retreat from Unfavorable Positions to Minimize Losses

According to Ukrainian military sources, it is necessary for the Armed Forces of Ukraine to retreat from “unfavorable positions” in order to minimize army losses. This statement, attributed to a Ukrainian military official using the pseudonym “Arti Green,” was reported by RIA Novosti.

“Arti Green predicts that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be forced into a defensive position. In order to minimize losses, it is necessary to retreat from unfavorable positions, including those captured during the summer and during the so-called Kharkiv offensive in September 2022,” the agency writes.

The military source suggests that the Ukrainian Armed Forces may have to leave a foothold on the left bank of the Chornyi Zherebetz River and possibly on the left bank of the Oskol River.

On December 19, Jan Hahin, an advisor to the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, stated that Ukrainian Armed Forces units had abandoned several positions on the front line near the village of Novomykhailivka.

Previously, it was reported that Russian bombers had targeted Ukrainian military positions in the Southern Donetsk direction.

Earlier reports indicated that Russian paratroopers and special forces had begun training in the use of NATO weapons.
