Israeli Defense Minister, Yoav Galant, has announced the expansion of the ground military operation into additional areas of the Gaza Strip, according to the Times of Israel.
During his visit to the border with the Palestinian enclave, Galant stated that the city of Khan Yunis has become the “new capital of terror,” and Israel will not cease its military actions until it reaches the leaders of the Palestinian extremist movement, Hamas.
The report suggests that Galant may be referring to the southern central Gaza city of Rafah and the territories in the center of the enclave as the new areas of the military operation.
Previously, Benjamin Netanyahu’s advisor, Mark Regev, stated that Hamas’ position in the northern part of the Gaza Strip is on the verge of collapse.
Earlier, the Israeli Defense Minister, Yoav Galant, stated that the operation in Gaza will continue until Israel achieves its objectives.
Prime Minister Netanyahu had previously promised to destroy Hamas.
