Israel is making preparations to launch a ground operation in southern Lebanon against the Shiite militant group Hezbollah, as reported by The Times. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have expressed concerns about the proximity of Hezbollah forces to the Lebanon-Israel border and the potential threat they pose to northern Israel. This move comes after an Israeli Air Force drone targeted a Hezbollah base in Homin-et-Tahta, which is located just 40 kilometers from the Israeli border. The IDF has previously targeted several Hezbollah movement facilities in Lebanon in response to rocket launches from the neighboring country. The possible involvement of Hezbollah in the war has been described as a “fatal mistake” by Israeli authorities.
