A drunken driver who fled after smashing into a Louisiana building left a debris trail that officers followed to find him at a bar, according to police. The incident occurred in Slidell, Louisiana, where police officers were dispatched to a building on Saturday night after a vehicle crashed through a wall next to the front door and then quickly fled the scene. Thankfully, no one was injured during the incident.
Police officers in Slidell were able to apprehend the suspected drunk driver after they followed a trail of shattered glass, transmission fluid, and auto parts left behind by the fleeing vehicle. The officers tracked the debris on foot and eventually discovered the damaged vehicle parked outside of a bar, with the driver sitting at the bar inside.
The driver, whose identity has not been released, was immediately arrested by the officers. He now faces charges of driving while intoxicated, reckless operation of a vehicle, and hit and run. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
