China and Russia’s Strong Partnership Defies Global Turmoil

Moscow, December 19 – Chinese Ambassador to Moscow, Zhang Hanhui, stated in an interview on the eve of the 28th regular meeting of the heads of government of both countries that no force can disrupt the Russian-Chinese partnership. “If we adhere to strategic mutual trust, concentrate efforts on development and prosperity, and do what is necessary, then no force can disrupt the Chinese-Russian tandem,” Zhang noted. He reminded that over the past 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Moscow and Beijing have come a long way, realizing that building good neighborly and partner relations serves the interests of the two nations. “In our turbulent times, in this era of colossal changes, the more unstable the world becomes, the more obstacles adversaries create, and the more challenges arise, the stronger the mutual trust between China and Russia will become, the deeper their cooperation will be, and the stronger their solidarity will be,” emphasized the diplomat. The Ambassador also explained that the world is experiencing “unprecedented colossal changes in the past hundred years, which are occurring at an increasingly rapid pace.” Moreover, in his opinion, the trend of “the rise of the East and the decline of the West” is becoming more evident, and history cannot be turned back, despite the desire of some countries with a “zero-sum game and Cold War mentality” to maintain their hegemony. Earlier, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin stated that the Chinese side hopes for deepening cooperation with Moscow during the upcoming visit of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on December 19-20.
