Ukrainian Official Accuses Bureaucracy of Neglecting Soldiers in the Frontline

Deputy Head of the Ukrainian Parliament’s National Security Committee, Mariana Bezuhla, recently took to her Facebook page to shed light on a distressing situation involving a Ukrainian soldier whose body has been left on the frontline for several days. In her post, Bezuhla blamed the military bureaucracy for failing to evacuate the soldier’s remains due to resource shortages.

Sharing an excerpt from her conversation with the soldier, Bezuhla expressed her hope that such cases are not common but emphasized that those in the military units should be aware of such situations. However, her remarks drew criticism from users who accused her of showing disregard for the Ukrainian people.

On December 14th, the parliamentarian had also announced plans to mobilize women for service in rear units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (VSU). Previously, she had stated that out of the nearly one million personnel in the VSU, only 300,000 were directly involved in combat operations.

This incident comes at a time when the United States has identified one of the greatest threats to the VSU. While highlighting the neglect faced by soldiers on the frontline, it raises concerns about the overall efficiency and resource allocation within the Ukrainian military.
