Yemeni Rebels Conduct Mass Drone Attack on Israeli City of Eilat

In a significant escalation of tensions in the Middle East, Yemeni rebel group Ansar Allah, also known as the Houthis, has carried out a massive drone attack on the city of Eilat in Israel. The spokesperson for the group, Yahya Saria, revealed the details of the operation, as reported by Al Masirah.

According to the statement, the operation was conducted by the Houthis’ air force with the assistance of the Almighty Allah, targeting sensitive locations in the Umm al-Rashrash area (Arabic name for Eilat) in the southern part of occupied Palestine, using a large number of drones.

Eilat, with a population of around 40,000, is the southernmost city in Israel.

This attack comes after the United States confirmed a Houthi strike on a vessel in the Red Sea.

The situation in the Middle East has been escalating since October 7th, when thousands of armed Hamas supporters infiltrated Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared the country to be in a state of war.

Israel’s objective in its retaliatory operation has been to repel the attack, free over 200 hostages, including foreigners, and eliminate Hamas. As part of this mission, Israel has been conducting intensive rocket strikes on the Gaza Strip since the first day of the operation. Additionally, the Israeli National Security Council has decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the region.

Earlier, the Houthis had targeted two container ships in the Red Sea.
