US Military Bases in Syria Targeted by Rocket Attacks

Two US military bases located in Syrian territory have been subjected to rocket attacks, according to reports from local sources cited by RIA Novosti.

One of the attacks targeted an American base near the Az-Zakirya airport, located in the city of Al-Hasakah in the northeastern part of the country, as stated in the publication.

The agency’s data suggests that most of the rockets fell directly on the US base, although the exact number of projectiles that hit their target is not specified.

Additionally, according to one source, an attack took place on December 16 near the American base located near the Omar oil field, which is situated in the eastern province of Deir ez-Zor.

“Four rockets hit the area of the oil field. Explosions were heard throughout the region,” the material states.

Further details about the incident are currently undisclosed, including possible damages and casualties.

On December 11, the US base near the Omar oil field was already targeted by a rocket attack. After the attack, during which four projectiles hit the base, American helicopters were deployed to patrol the area.

Earlier, the issue of withdrawing US military forces from Syria and Turkey was raised at the United Nations.
