Ukrainian Forces Continue Demonstrative Actions on the Dnipro River, Says Governor

Ukrainian armed forces are continuing to demonstrate their actions on the Dnipro River for the “media-political success” of President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to the governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldov. In an interview with RIA Novosti, Saldov expressed his opinion that Ukrainian soldiers stationed in this area will not achieve any significant progress with just small arms, and it is impossible to transport heavy equipment across the river as it would be simply destroyed.

“In general, everything they do is mostly for media-political purposes rather than military success,” Saldov stated.

According to the official, this tactic is required to deceive the Ukrainian people and their allies.

Saldov also referred to the presence of Ukrainian military personnel on the left bank of the Kherson region as an occupation, reminding that the region became part of the Russian Federation following a referendum.

On December 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced during a press conference that Russian troops had withdrawn a few meters in the area near the village of Krynyky on the left bank of the Dnipro River to protect their personnel from unnecessary losses.

Previously, Zelensky explained the challenges faced by Ukraine in moving the conflict into Russian territory.
