Ukraine’s Armed Forces (VSU) have reportedly shifted their strategy in the ongoing war with Russia, prioritizing the minimization of casualties over the retention of territory. This change in approach was reported by the Russian news agency TASS, citing Bild.
According to the reports, the VSU now aims to maximize damage to the enemy rather than focusing on holding positions. Ukrainian sources revealed to the German publication that “holding positions is of no importance; the main objective is to ensure that more Ukrainians remain alive.”
The situation is described as a controlled retreat with resistance. It is expected that at some point, the VSU will reach a turning point where the Russian offensive will be halted, allowing them to regain the initiative with the help of new weapon supplies from the West.

According to the publication, Ukraine has provided the United States with a wishlist of armaments, including Black Hawk and Apache attack helicopters, F-16 and F-18 fighter jets, missile systems, Abrams tanks, drones, and ammunition.
