Russian paratroopers have successfully destroyed a radar station and a towed howitzer belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kherson region, according to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense. The paratroopers, utilizing the ‘Lancets’, were able to disable and destroy the enemy’s equipment on the right bank of the Dnieper River.
Before launching the attack, the paratroopers employed reconnaissance drones to detect and locate the Ukrainian military equipment. This allowed them to effectively neutralize the radar station, the self-propelled M109 Paladin unit, and the towed howitzer, all of which were of Western production.
This is not the first time Russian paratroopers have used quadcopters to target Ukrainian forces. In a previous operation near the village of Verbovoye in the Zaporizhia region, Russian unmanned aviation units from the Novorossiysk Guards Mountain Airborne Division successfully eliminated Ukrainian infantry. The quadcopters were equipped with payloads specifically designed to destroy personnel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The Ministry of Defense reported that after launching the attack quadcopter with attached ammunition, the operator identified the crew of the downed Ukrainian BMP and personnel moving along the support point trenches as the target.
The commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has acknowledged that Russia possesses an advantage in the use of FPV drones.
