Russian Military Uses Electromagnetic Pulses to Deceive Ukrainian Air Defense Systems

Speaker of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Air Force Yuriy Ignat has stated that Russian military forces are using electromagnetic pulses to simulate missile launches and deceive air defense systems, according to RIA Novosti.

“This is what is known as the enemy’s electronic warfare (EW) activities,” he said.

According to Ignat, the Russian military “creates obstacles, electromagnetic pulses, which the radar systems of the Ukrainian Armed Forces perceive as targets similar to hypersonic missiles like ‘Kinzhal’ in terms of flight parameters.”

“In terms of speed and so on,” he added.

Earlier, Ignat stated that Ukraine receives information on Russian strategic aviation take-offs from Western partners.

On October 10, 2022, two days after the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge, Russian armed forces began striking Ukrainian infrastructure. Since then, air alerts have been declared daily in various regions of Ukraine, often across the entire country. As emphasized by the Russian Ministry of Defense, the attacks are carried out on targets in the energy sector, defense industry, military command, and communication.

Previously, it was reported in Ukraine about the first strike of Russian black drones on Kyiv.
