Russian intelligence operatives have successfully disrupted the rotation of Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Zaporizhia region, according to reports from the Russian Ministry of Defense. The Southern Military District’s reconnaissance personnel detected a gathering of Ukrainian military personnel who were preparing for a rotation, using a reconnaissance drone equipped with thermal imaging technology. The coordinates of the identified positions were swiftly transmitted to the artillery command post, leading to the adjustment of fire from 152mm self-propelled howitzers, known as the “Msta-B”. The Ministry of Defense claims that this operation resulted in the loss of up to 35 Ukrainian servicemen and two vehicles. This incident follows reports of Russian forces successfully repelling two attacks by Ukrainian assault aircraft in the Donetsk direction. The commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces previously acknowledged Russia’s advantage in the use of FPV drones.
